1. Our role
AntiqueLion is an online venue where users list, find and bid on antiques and collectibles. We are not the buyer or seller of any item, we do not hold items or money, and we are not a party to any sale. Sellers are responsible for their listings and items; buyers are responsible for checking an item before they pay.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
- Give accurate details, including a phone number you can be reached on, and keep your password private.
- You are responsible for everything done through your account.
3. Listings
- Only list items you own or are authorised to sell, and that are in your possession or that you can deliver.
- Describe items accurately, including age, origin, materials, condition, repairs and reproductions. Use your own photos.
- Prices must be real. Do not use a listing to advertise something else or to collect contact details.
- We may edit categories, hide or remove listings that break these terms, without notice.
4. Prohibited items
You may not list or sell:
- stolen, looted or illegally excavated items, or cultural property exported against the law of its country of origin;
- items made from protected species (for example ivory, rhino horn or tortoiseshell) unless the sale is legal and you hold the required documents, which you must mention in the listing;
- fakes, replicas or reproductions presented as originals, or items that infringe trademarks or copyright;
- weapons, ammunition and other items whose sale is restricted by law, unless the sale is lawful where you and the buyer are;
- human remains, hazardous materials, or anything else illegal to sell or ship.
5. Auctions
- A bid is an offer to buy the item at that amount if you are the highest bidder when the auction ends. Only bid if you intend to buy.
- When the auction ends, the highest bidder and the seller are expected to complete the sale in good faith. Sellers must not bid on their own items or arrange for others to raise the price.
- You can enter a maximum bid. The site then bids for you automatically, only as much as needed to keep you in the lead, up to your maximum. Your maximum is never shown to other users.
- A seller may set a reserve price. If bidding ends below it, there is no sale and nobody is obliged to buy or sell.
- A bid placed in the last 2 minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes, so every bidder has a fair chance to respond.
- Auction times are shown in your local time. Bids received after the end time are not accepted.
- We may cancel bids or auctions that we believe are fraudulent or break these terms.
6. Dealing with other users
- Payment, delivery, returns and refunds are agreed between buyer and seller. Local consumer laws may give buyers additional rights against sellers.
- Use contact details you receive only for the sale in question. No spam, harassment or abusive messages.
- Offers: an offer stays open for 48 hours. If the other person accepts it, you have agreed to buy or sell at that price, and the listing is reserved for the buyer. Make offers only if you intend to complete the sale.
- Reviews must describe your own real experience of the seller. Do not post reviews in exchange for payment or a discount, about yourself, or to harm a competitor. We may hide reviews that break these rules or contain personal details.
- The verified badge means we checked the seller's name, address and document at the time. It is not a guarantee of any item or sale.

7. Prices and currency
The seller's price in the seller's currency is the price. Converted amounts are estimates based on daily exchange rates and are shown for convenience only.
8. Content you post
You keep ownership of your photos and text. You allow AntiqueLion to display, resize and share them to operate and promote the site while your listing is live and for a reasonable time afterwards. Do not post content you do not have the right to use.
9. Suspension
We may limit, suspend or close accounts that break these terms or the law, or that put other users at risk. You can delete your account at any time from Account settings.
10. Liability
We work to keep the site available and accurate, but it is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, AntiqueLion is not liable for the items listed, for what users say or do, or for losses arising from a transaction between users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The date below shows the latest version; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.
